Our four-man team took different geographical paths to Aline Capital and Greenville, which means we have excellent knowledge of southeastern markets. We strive for long-term relationships, rather than short-term cash flow, and get there by understanding the clients we work with, their needs and their goals.
Britt Gillespie is a Director of Aline Capital’s Multifamily Advisory Group. He leads all aspects of the brokerage of multifamily investments in the Southeast, including principal relationships, effective due diligence management, and the constant monitoring of rapidly evolving multifamily markets. Britt first entered investment sales in Phoenix, Arizona in 2003 in commercial land sales, including annexation and rezoning processes in multiple municipalities. He spent five years with the leading multifamily investment sales team at Newmark Knight Frank, successfully closing more than 3,000 units for more than $150 million. To date, he has been a part of more than $300 million in successful commercial real estate transactions. Britt also has extensive experience in transacting Affordable Housing, including those properties subject to HAP, HOME, LIHTC, and many other regulatory agreements.
Britt works hand-in-hand with his clients to fully understand their real estate investment objectives and long-range plans in order to achieve their goals. Knowledge is power, and Britt leverages his professional network of relationships with lenders, developers, and property managers to assist his clients in fully understanding the state and trajectory of the commercial real estate market.
He is an avid Braves and Diamondbacks baseball fan, dog lover, hiker and auto aficionado. He is Chairman of Pickens County Zoning Appeals Board, and a member of the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Steering Committee. He proudly supports American Legion Post 52, Easley in honor of his father’s military service.
Charlie is a deeply rooted native of Greenville, S.C. In 2013 he began his CRE career underwriting middle market, retail and office, value add deals. He has worked on all sides of land, office, retail, and multifamily. Charlie is preceded by several generations of real estate experience and is lucky to have viewed real estate brokerage through the eyes of an investor, not a salesman, from the very beginning. His strengths are financial analysis, creative solution-based thinking, and relationship management.
Prior to CRE, Charlie lived in Shanghai where he worked with a private equity group focused on pharmaceutical retail and distribution, and hospitality real estate. There he was responsible for investor relations, strategy, site due diligence, and local community relations.
Charlie is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in economics. He also serves on the board of directors for Pendleton Place, working with at-risk children. There he helps manage strategy, operations, fund raising, and properties and facilities. Charlie also serves on the Christ Church Episcopal School Alumni Board. He believes in giving back and has also worked in lesser capacities with several other organizations in Greenville. Charlie has also been on multiple mission trips to Haiti. He speaks frequently about how incredibly happy the majority of Haitians are. The contrast in attitudes between Haiti and home can help keep things in perspective. Outside the office, Charlie enjoys family and friends, traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, skiing and the outdoors.
Jonathan is a New England transplant who has lived in South Carolina since 2006. In 2015, he began his CRE career brokering multifamily properties. His responsibilities include client relations and all other brokerage activities. In the past five years he has facilitated the sale of more than 50 multifamily assets representing more than $170 Million in sales volume.
Prior to CRE, Jonathan lived writing and teaching English all over the world. Some locations include New England, Honolulu Hawaii, Qatar and Costa Rica. His writing has been published numerous times. Jonathan earned his Masters Degree from the University of Massachusetts. He enjoys reading, films and spending time with his family outdoors.
After receiving double concentration degree in financial economics and accounting in 2018 John went straight into CRE. He worked briefly for the RMR group where he was exposed to a dozen processes and responsibilities, but focused on budgeting, audits, management, and negotiating government, vendor, and leasing contracts. Afterwards, John’s work as a multifamily, mobile home sales advisor at SVN was successful, but short lived before joining his team to form Aline Capital.
Now John focusses on multifamily investment sales and is successful at developing new relationships and matching buyer and seller needs. He spends his time outside the office with his wife, biking, camping, and fly fishing.
